Gentle Shepherd Care was founded in 2019 by Emma Soy, RN, BSN, MA, with a clear-eyed mission: to bring clinical-grade eldercare to the families and organizations that need it most. After more than 35 years of nursing experience across leading healthcare systems—including HealthQuest, the University of Texas, and Intermountain Healthcare—Emma saw a gap in the market that no one was filling.
Home care agencies were sending minimally trained aides with no clinical oversight. Employers were watching their best people burn out under caregiving pressure with no real support to offer. And families were left navigating an overwhelming, fragmented system alone.

Emma Soy, RN, BSN, MA — Founder & CEO
Emma is a registered nurse with over three decades of specialized experience in complex neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, and stroke recovery. She is a TEDx speaker, a member of the Women Presidents Organization, and a Director with the National Care Planning Council.
Known as “the PANINI Woman” for her work championing the sandwich generation, Emma is a sought-after speaker at corporate wellness summits, HR conferences, and healthcare forums. She brings a unique perspective that bridges clinical expertise with workforce strategy—making the case that eldercare support isn’t just compassionate, it’s a competitive advantage.
Prior to founding her own company, Soy was a consultant for healthcare technology companies, leading strategic processes and operational assessments, establishing program governance, advising on electronic medical records adoption, and acting as a liaison between tech developers, doctors and healthcare worker.
